The best day of my trip was spending a wonderful day with Peter Ziehl, my mom's brother (and my new friend). He is a fun, brilliant, cool guy! Peter came to Nürnberg on the train from Frankfurt, where he lives with his wife Ulrike. We walked, ate, talked, and shot a lot of photos.

Nürnberg buildings and landmarks: Sinwell Tower at the Imperial Castle (more like a fort, really), Luginsland Tower, and a window in Imperial Castle. The lower row of photos show the horse-drawn carriage ride at the Christmas Market and a sign on the wall in the restaurant where we enjoyed our lunch.

My favorite photos of mom and Peter are these two--the one at left where they are enjoying shopping inside the Käthe Wohlfahrt store, and the next one, below, in front of Heilig-Geist-Spital (the Hospital of the Holy Spirit was established in 1332–39 by Konrad Gross, for the care of elderly and needy)

I hope he caught his return train to Frankfurt! Then our ship sailed, and we said goodbye to Nürnberg.
