Passau enchanted me like no other town of this cruise, perhaps because Passau and I met early in the morning,  before the inhabitants and shopkeepers and tourists were really stirring. I felt pulled along the streets and into quiet places of early morning, as the town showed me her pretties. Here's what I saw.

Here's an inviting sight in early-morning Passau--a coffee place with wooly blankies to wear on your lap while sipping your hot beverage.  Below are photos of St Stephen Dom, or St Stephen's Cathedral in Passau. We heard an organ concert inside St Stephan's, from the worlds third-largest pipe organ.

		This set of photos: Cathedral Yard, Cathedral roof, Veste Oberhaus across the river from Passau, sign near the cathedral, buildings along Fritz-Schäffer-Promenade in der Passauer Altstadt, Old Town Hall, a corner of a building near the Glass Museum, and Winkie Griffin along the Donau.

These pictures show the poet Emerenz Meier, a native of the Passau area, whose first works were published under a pseudonym (a man's name?); the top of the fountain in the Residenzplatz; the sign for Hotel Wilder Mann; and a sign showing the Danube's overflow, the highwatermark posted on the old town hall building.  The last three photos are details of St Stephen's Cathedral ceiling.
