Canada Geese (Branta canadensis);  Sandhill Cranes (Grus canadensis). This is as close as I could get to photograph these birds--they're busy migrating!

ducks, geese, and Black Oystercatchers We have ducks, geese, and (I think) Black Oystercatchers, all hanging out together at Cosumnes River Preserve. Below, one of many hawks that we saw on February 21, 2009.
