American Coots make waves left, American Coots (Fulica americana) make waves. Below, Redwing Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) is common in the area . Right, a Sandpiper eyes his reflection.

Below left, Western Meadowlark (Sturnella neglecta); middle, Black-Crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax); right, the Night Heron show us his thin white ponytail.

Great Horned Owl left, a Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) was concealed in a small, twiggy tree. I think I woke him. Sorry, Bubo!
